Cracksmen secured thirty thousand dollars ’worth of jewellery by blowing open the sale oi a jewellery establishment.

A six days’ fete has been arranged for the crew of the New Zealand, including motor drives, luncheons, sports, dances, and banquets.
PANIC IN PICTURE THEATRE
(Received 11.40 a.m.) New York, July 18
A flash-light used to take a photograph in the picture theatre at Newark, New Jersey, caused a panic. A hundred were injured, most of them being children. A WOMAN’S TONGUE. A crowd at Seattle, incited by a woman speaker, were attacked by three soldiers and two sailors. The woman had abused the array and navy. The timely arrival of the police prevented serious injury.
