DEFINITE CASE IN WELLINGTON

[Per Press Association.] Wellington, July 19

There seems no doubt that the suspected case reported yesterday is smallpox. The patient is a European maid in the employment of Mr Vernon Reed, M.P. She came with the Rood family from Kawakawa. The house in Hobson street, ocupied by Mr and Mrs Reed, has been isolated, and the patient has been removed to a portion of the infectious diseases hospital.
