DEAD LETTER IN DANNEVIRKE

[Per Press Association.] Dannevirke, July 11

Inquiries made of local medical men show that the Dannevirke district, the, centre of a large Maori population, is practically unvaccinated. One doctor said he could count the number he had. vaccinated during the last six years on one hand, while another said he had only performed three operations during as many years, and these on children. Another said that locally the custom is a dead letter, and to all intents and purposes Danneyirke was an unvaccinated community.
