FANCY FIGURES

At the sheep sales there was a good demand for merinos and prices were, generally above those of last week’s average. The South Africans bought fairly freely, though not indulging in fancy figures. British breeds showed an improved demand. The Boonoke rams,, brought 710gns, 565gns. and oOOgns. respectively. Three others brought 200gns. The Tasmanian grand champion mer r ino ram, Sylvian 11., brought 240gns. The longwool Lincolns sold on account of Mr E. Barribal], of Waiuku, brought sgns, and stud rams 4gns to sgns, and forty-five rams, three-quart-er bred, brought sgns. Other sales \yere:—John Nixon (Killinchy) Stud rams at 3£gns; Joseph Douthwaito (Waimate), 28 lambs at Signs';' L. F. Shakespeare (Waiuku), 29 ! Pams' at' 3)gns to Signs; Alfred Kidd (Waiuku), 30 ram lambs at 31 gns to 3|gns.
