The first two were for blazing chimneys, but the third ,was more serious. It was a dwelling •house in Derby, jifyreet, ocqipjed by Mrs W. t and caught ;.]fir<q pt f ln id night. With- good pressijre; of watby, the brigade managed to save the adjoining dwellings, which wer f in danger for some time. Mends’ place was completely destroyed. The insurances are'not known.,,
HOUSE DESTROYED AT MID--9 aim-: A house in■ sr&Jted* on the corner of Denbigh and Mountain Roads, occupied by Mr Weybourno, was totally destroyed by fire about 8 o’clock on Saturday night. - The first intimation of the fire received* by'Mr and Mrs Weybourne was when the sitting room in which they were was i filled with smoke. When they went to investigate they found that the fire had such a good hold that nothing could be done to savb the house, but most of the furniture was removed to safety. The fire is believed to have originated through a defect in the kitchen chimney.
