o FINAL ASSESSMENT. * [l'eb Pkess Association.! Auckland, June 26. The final assessment of death duties in the. estate of the late Sir John Logan Campbell has been completed. The nett value of the estate was certified at £227,906, on which the death duty payable is £36,256. The Trustees find themselves with only £131,000 in hand with which to carry out the testator's wishes, and beyond £IOOO, which will be paid to the St. John's 'Ambulance Association, and £lp,ooo to Auckland charities in 1914, the payment of the bigger legacies will bo indefinitely postponed. Practically the whole of the asse.ts are in shares in' Campbell, Ehrenfiekl and Coy., and in view of the possibility of an adverse vote on the local option poll, the trustees do not consider they are justified in further reducing the corpus of the estate.
