WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY.
[Per Pitrcss Association.! Wellington, June 23
Regidations have been drafted for the installation of wireless telegraphy on vessels registered in New Zealand and issued to the Union Company, Northern s.s. Company, and several small steamers engaged in the local trade. Three classes of wireless telegraphy are recognised. In the first the operator is always on duty. In the second at certain hours, and the first ten minutes of every other hour; in the third operators do no specified listening service. The regulations only apply to vessels authorised to carry no less than 50 passengers and engaged in the foreign or intercolonial trade. There are 17 of the latter and 16 coastal vessels. The regulations do not apply to the Pateeha, which is registered in Tasmania, nor to the Huddart-Parker. dine.
