DOCKED HORSES,
Colonel Seely, in the House of Commons, said that the War Office was notifying that it would not purchase docked horses after three years’ time. BIG LAND DEAL. Replying to Mr Swift Mac Neil, Mr Harcourt said that the British South Africa Company had conveyed 1,200,000 acres to the Liebig Company at a shilling an acre. There was no reason to question the validity of the purchase. HOME SCIENCE. Lord Rosebery appeals for £50,000 to complete the Home Science and Economics Department of King’s College for Women.
A PERSIAN OUTRAGE
Tbheran, June 18
A gang of Tangistani gun-runners in the Persian Gulf murdered eight of the crew of a Dubai pearling boat, and looted the pearls, in retaliation for the Slieik of Dubai seizing the cargo and guns. British cruisers seized many Tangistani dhows, after a fight. The Britishers lost one seaman killed and five wounded.

The American troops in the Philippines finally dispersed the Moros, losing fourteen killed.
THE INDIAN CONSPIRACY
Delhi, June 19
The trial of the conspirators has opened at Calcutta. The prosecution' has asked for pardon for two approvers who are giving direct evidence as to the working of the Bari sal and Dacca sections of the conspiracy. The prosecution detailed, a lengthy list of murders and outrages which the police had connected' with the Society. Sedition was preached chiefly through religious services.
