NIGGER MINSTRELS.

HOLY TRINITY CHILDREN. The Parisli Hall was well filled last night, when the Holy Trinity Sunday School concert, which, took the form of a nigger minstrel troupe, was held. The programme was very well received, all the soloists being encored, which speaks volumes for the great amount of work done by Miss B. O’Leary in training them, their initiation as niggers, being Capably carried out by Mr E. H. Kivell. Mr and Mrs Penn kindly played a selection of coon airs during the interval. The curtain rose, with an opening chorus, which introduced cakewalks by several of the coons. The manager.,' .in a short speech, then introduced the principals. “Jim Crack Corn” (F. Huggard) was well received in his solo, from which his name -was taken.'A • very pretty lullaby by Mammy (Hi Wolfe) was yell sung, and (deservedly encored. Mammy also rendered “De Big Sun Flower” lullaby in splendid style, receiving a full encore. • “Nellie Bly” (Rita Grubb) was very good in a most catching solo, “I’se a Little Curly-headed Coon,” and her manner of acting it quite took the audience by storm, her creditable performance being encored. Many very funny jokes were introduced by Bones (L. King) the manager, several niggers, and Jacobs (W. Kivell). Mrs Dinah (M. Wolfe) was encored in her solo “Kis Yours Mamm Goodnight.” The lullaby ‘Sleep, Honey, Sleep,” by the Troupe, gained a recall, and was followed by another fine series of jokes. assa Wellington (N. Davies), .the dandy of the troupe, sang “Nellie ,-;Biy,” winch was well acted, both receiving a well-earned encore. Jacob (W.; Kivell) was most amusing in his solo “Susan Jane,” (M. SanfteTSOn), whose pert acting of the part added greatly to the Item. Another series of good jokes, and a closing chorus

saw the curtain fall. The collection of comical drosses was extraordinary,

and were well shown off by the special lighting installed by Messrs H. Sanderson and W. Jobb.
