PICTURES COMBINATION. [Per Press Association.] Napier, June 19
Justice Chapman occupied the bench in the Supreme Court during the hearing of the civil action New Zealand Picture Supplies Co. v. Thompson Payne Co., a claim for £193 8s 9d in respect to postage on films, and £5273 6s 8d damages in respect to alleged breach of contract. The statement of claim set out that defendants agreed to take supplies of films from the plaintiffs for their Napier and Masterton houses at £25 and £2O respectively, the contract being binding for three years.
A COOL BURGLARY
Christchurch, June 19
Burglars entered the premises of J. N. Withers, storekeeper, Southbrook, yesterday night, and. removed a large safe into, the back yard. They put it on a pony trap belonging to Withers, but the pony refused to draw the load and the burglars borrowed another horse - , took the safe some distance away, dynamited it, and extracted £5 2s 3d.—
CADET SHOOTING FUNDS
Wellington, June 19
As a result of Mrs Godley’s appeal to the worn fen of the Dominion for funds tp provide trophies for shooting among the senior cadets, the sum of £2030 has been raised in addition to eighteen■ challenge cups. The. fund is now closed.-
