Mr Albert E. Eastwood, representing Bcebe Polite Vaudeville, was in town to-day making arrangements to show hero on 28th inst.
Engineer Commander T. H. Turner of H..M.S. New Zealand, is a nephew of the late W. G. Stookley, of New Plymouth, and a cousin of Mrs W. H. Webb, of Stratford.
Miss O'Toole, who is to take up duty as milliner for Messrs Morey and Son, arrived in Stratford on Saturday last. Miss MeKeon severs her connection with the firm at the.end of the present week, in view of her approaching marriage.
Captain Halsey, H.M.S. New Zealand, was the recipient at Moturoa yesterday of a handsome water-color painting of the famous historical Bell Block Stockade, in 1860 from Madamo Bernard. The painting, which was the work of Mr Will Diamond, of His Majesty's Pictures, Stratford, from an original sketch by Hamer Arden, is 18in x 24in in size. Captain Halsey, in a letter laceived by Madame Bernard to-day, acknowledges with thanks the fine gift as a pleasing memento of his visit to New Ply? I mouth.
