The Express states that married women all over the country are being urged to join the Home-makers' Union
which has been started at Croydon for the purpose of assisting husbands to obtain better wages, of securing a fair share of their husbands' earnings, and of protesting against bad conditions of home life, however caused. The union relies largely as a final weapon on downing pots and pans.
The Associted Chambers of Commerce have submitted to Mr Aisquith a memorandum in favor of the adoption of universal training, attention being drawn to the satisfactory results which have attended the scheme in Australia and New Zealand. In South Africa, they point out, patriotic employers are penalised under the existing scheme.
