SMALL-POX SUSPECTED.

THE CASE ISOLATED. [Per Press Association.] Auckland, June 5. A half caste Maori living at Oneliunga, who is stated to he affected with smallpox, has been removed to the isolation ward at Point Chevalier. The local health authorities state that there is an element of doubt as to whether the case is one of smallpox, but tbe point will be cleared up in a day or two. In the meantime every precaution will be taken to prevent any spread of the disease. Latex*.

The Maori isolated on suspicion of having small-pox is Rukutai, the wellknown international footballer.
