• Sydney, June 3. In accordance with the desire of the subscribers in New South Wales, the Scott relief fund, totalling about £7OOO, will be devoted to the widows and dependents of those lost. Sydney, June 3. The Government has concluded a tentative contract with Griffiths Australia, Ltd., a branch of the Griffiths Norton Company, London, to expend three million on the construction of railways, in eluding the remaining sections of the North Coast and Condoh-lin-Broken Hill lines. The company will secure three million at the current rate of interest, as required, and provide a staff of engineers, the supervisor of the work receiving a remuneration of 5 per cent, on the cost of the work.
