A motor car containing Dr. Dubois and his wife, child and a friend, was precipitated over a parapet at Maurier, and fell twenty-live feet into the river. All were drowned except the baby. SOLDIERS RUN AMOK. Brussels, April 22. Two drunken soldiers, with G 9 cartridges apiece, deserted and ran through the streets at Rorchies le Marche. They kept up shooting for hours, shouting “Long live the strike!” They killed a chasseur and then escaped into the woods. COOLIE’S HORRIBLE CRIME. Suva, April 22. Art Indian coolie has been sentenced to death by the Supreme Court fertile murder of Iris paramour through jealousy. He cut and stabbed her and left her brains protruding. She lingered for thirty hours.
HUGE CUNARD LINER
London, April 22
The Cunard liner Aquitania has been launched at Clydebank. She is the largest vessel yet built in Britain. She has a tonnage of 47,000 tons, a speed of 23 knots an hour, and carrie 3250 passengers and a crew of 1000. She has several motor lifeboats. AN UNOBJECTIONABLE BOOK. Evidence for the defence in the Douglas case has closed. The Times’ Book Club’s manager testified that he had examined the volume and foune nothing objectionable. They declined to withdraw it when Douglas complained. A ROYAL VISIT. London, April 21. The King and Queen have started on a visit; to the railway works at Crewe and an inspection of the potteries. A GENEROUS GIFT.

(Received 9.45 a.m.) ■ London, (April 22. The Post Office has determined upon a rapid extension of automatic telephones. OBITUARY. London, April 22. Lord Gorell (surname Barnes) was the first baronet, being created in 1909. He was judge of Probate, Di voice, and Admiralty Division in 1892 1905, and President from 1905 tc 1909, having been created a Privy Councillor in 1905. UNIONIST M.P. RESIGNS. Mr Valentine Fleming, Inionist M.P. for Henley, is resigning.
