The Government Meteorologist (Rev I). C. Bates) telegraphed this after noon as follows:
The indications are for northerly moderate to strong winds prevailing and freshening at times; expect dull weather with much mist and fog in parts, with cloudy weather and rain later. Barometer unsteady.
