MOTOR RACING. 101 MILES AN HOUR. [By Electric Telegraph-Copyright] [United Press Association.] London, March 24 Jules Goux, the famous Continental road racer, gave a great exhibition at at the Brooklands motor track today. He won the 53 miles handicap, driving his car at a speed of 951 miles an hour; and in the 8£ miles handicap, driving from four miles behind scratch, covering the distance at the rate of 101 miles an hour. TENNIS. THE DAVIS CUP. (Received 10.45 a.m.) Sydney, April 4. At a gathering to farewell the tennis players, Jones and Rice, they expressed the opinion that Australia had a good fighting chance, and that they were determined, if possible, to bring back the Davis Cup. FOOTBALL.
STRATFORD ASSOCIATION CLUB
The annual meeting of the above club was Mr D. Butcbart s shop on Thursday 1 evening’ before a large attendance, when 1 Mr Sid. Clark was in the dhair. The following officers were elected : Hon. President, Rev. W. A. Butler; secretary and treasurer, J. J. East; captain, J. Butchart; general committee,/J. Butchart, B. Chadwick, D. Butchai't,' A. Patrick; selection committee, J. Butchart, S. Clark, I). Butfchart; cleldgtrtes to Union, Rev. W. A. ButliP'hnd S. Clark. ' The chairman outlined the history of the club, ; and stated that although tire club had met with many reverses during the past he hoped from the enthusiasm now shown that soccer would make headway in Stratford this season.
