METHODIST CHURCH.
LAST QUARTERLY MEETING. The last quarterly meeting of tin Wesley Church was held at the residence of Mr R. H, White, Regan street, yesterday afternoon, when there wa< a good attendance of members, the Rev. A. Reader presiding. It was reported that the amount received from the Harvest Festival and gift sale was about £74, which constitutes a record. Hearty votes of thanks were accorded to the ladies and young men who had worked so well to bring about this result. A credit balance was carried forward from the circuit fund to the United Church, and a substantial balance was paid to the trust account. The Sunday Schools and Christian Endeavour Society were reported to be in a flourishing condition. It was decided that a letter he sent to the secretary of the Ladies’ Guild expressing the keen appreciation of the members of the quarterly meeting for their splendid work in paying off £B7 due to the loan fund and a private fund, thus leaving no debt on the church, and that they also be thanked for their valuable aid in other directions. The meeting closed with the Benediction. Mrs R. H. White kindly provided refreshments. I
UNITED QUARTERLY MEETING. The United Quarterly meeting of the Methodist Church was held in the schoolroom, Broadway last evening. There was a large attendance of representatives, and the Rev. A. Reader occupied the chair. The officials for the circuit were duly elected. It was reported that a suitable house had been secured for the junior minister. It was agreed that the services be | held in the Broadway Church for . the j present. Credit balances from both churches were handed in to the united meeting. . It was agreed that the ministers be asked to visit the Sunday Schools once a month. A vote of thanks was passed to the i ladies of Midhirst who have kindly offered to entertain the preachers. The meeting was most happy and harmonious throughout, which fact augurs iVoll for the future prosperity of the United Church. The next meeting is to be hold at Midhirst, The meeting closed with the singing of the Doxology and the Benediction.
