A POLL UNLIKELY.

FHE HALF-HOLIDAY QUESTION. Mr P. Skoglund, Town Clerk, informed a reporter this morning that it appeared very unlikely that a poll would be taken in Stratford on the naif-holiday question. The petition presented was signed. Mr Skoglund said, by 180 persons, representing over 10 per cent of the 1700 odd electors on the old roll. The question had arisen whether, since the percentage was based on the nld roll, only electors whose names were on that roll should be qualified to sign the petition. The Town Clerk said that he was addressing Mr T. F. Martin on the matter, and stated, that he understood this authority on municipal law had already given the opinion that those signing the petition must have their names on the 1911 roll or on a supplementary list. It is, of course, too late to present mother petition.
