In the House of Commons, a discussion on the laws of naval warfare was raised by Lord Loreburn’s letters. Mr, Acland made an important offer to Germany, namely, that while Britan adheres to the decision of 1908 to preserve the right of capture, her attitude would be modified if the right of capture and the reduction of armaments were discussed as one problem. THE DOMINIONS’ DEFENCE. Melbourne, April 2. Interviewed regarding defence, the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher said die was a strong advocate of joint action by Australia and New Zealand. He pointed out, however, that his Government was in complete ignorance of the Imperial position, as it had not received Mr Allen’s reports. “We are unable,” he said, “to outline our policy until Mr Allen’s return; but our party has always been strong on this question.”
