At the show the following sales were made :—Shorthorns: On account of Dahdell Bros., Hunterville, one heifer, oogns.; on account of W. T, Williams, Te Ante, four heifers, at 47) gns., 90gns., 230gns., and 65gns, The best price for a milking strain Shorthorn bull was 80gns. A PROHIBITION CAMP. Sydney', March 21. The Senior-cadets’ camp near Liverpool is being held under strict prohibi-1 tion conditions. Previously it was | a semi-prohibition camp, and was much crticisdd, many youths allegedly visiting the town and obtaining liquor. The town has now been placed outside bounds, and strong guards prevent ' cadets entering it.

The Easter crowds in Sydney were a record, every possible place of accommodation being overcrowded.
THE ATTACK OX A CONSUL
Melbourne, March 21
Chia has been committed for trial for wounding, with intent to murder, Yung Liang Hwang. The evidence showed that Chia was discharged from the Consulate employ by the Chinese Government, and intimated his intention to return to China. He sought to obtain from Yung Liang introductions to the Minister, and was annoyed at not obtaining them. After arrest, Chia declared that he intended to kill Hwang, because ho had abused him, and then kill himself.
