The Government Meteorologist (Rev D. C. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows: The indications are for westerly variable and strong breezes‘prevailing, squally at times and veering by west to south; expect changeable and showery weather, but should improve. Barometer unsteady with a rising tendency.
