AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

The weather is perfect for the opening of the show, which promises ft prove an unusually brilliant sucess. The cattle sections have bebn somewhat affected by th«f drought, and Clydesdales'have suffered from the paucity of New Zealand entries, which have been a feature in past years. Sheep, despite the dry season, form an excellent display, but pigs are not worthy of the occasion and the magnitude 01 the industry in the State.
I NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES. At the show prizes, for New Zealanders were Avon as folloivs:— Clydesdales.—Stallion, tivo and under three years, John Boag, jun., Brookside, Canterbury, Earl Stewart, first; S. Wilson, Upper Riccarton, Canterbury, Baron White, second; Mitchell and O’Brien, Oamaru, Colonel, third. Stallion, two-year-olds, S. Wilson, Baron White, third. Mare,, four years and over, Mitchell and O’Brien’s Flower, fourth. Mare, three yearn and under four, Mitchell and O’Brien’s Balgonie, first and reserve champion. Shires, farm mare, three years ami over, John Boag, Brookside, Canterbury, Princess, first. Sheep, English Leicester ram, two and over, John Nixon, Killinchy, Canterbury, first and champion. Ram, under tivo, John Nixon, first. Ewe, tAvo and over, John Nixon, first. Ewe, tivo years, John Nixon first and champion, and second.
