POST OFFICE TUBE RAILWAY. London, February 20. Mr Samuel, Postmaster-General, has given notice of a Bill to carry out a post office tube railway outlined in the Times of May 21. ELECTRIFYING INDIA’S RAILWAYS. The Morning Post says that a scheme for the electrification of the Indian railways has been prepared. It is described as being the most important and costly adopted in any country. THE NEW ZEALAND LOAN. (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, February 20. The New Zealand loan is dt -4 per cent, discount. ATTEMPTED BRIBERY. Wilhelm Claires, a German hunchback, waS arrested at Portsmouth for attempting to bribe to secure a secret naval code. CINEMATOGRAPH BOYCOTT. Owing to Pathe Freres’ decision to abolish middlemen and deal direct with the exhibitors, ninety film-rent ing .firms threaten a boycott. DISASTROUS FIRE AT TOKIO. (Received 9.15 a.m.) Tokio, February 20. A fire at Tokio destroyed 3300 build - ings, and fifteen thousand people arc homeless. A VALUABLLE ESTATE. Christopher Hangan, a Dublin merchant, left estate valued at £204,000 whereof £130,000 is bequeathed to Roman Catholic institutions i,n Ireland. The testator bequeathed £2OO to his sister, M. Joseph, Saint Claire’s Convent, Sydney. THE MOTOR BANDITS. Paris, February 15. The public prosecutor has asked for death sentences on Soudy, Callcrnin, Dieudonne, Carouy, Metge and Monier, who participated in the Bonnot crimes. The manager of the newspaper L’Anarchie is publishing threats to murder the jury.
