LIGHTNING STARTS A FIRE. (Per Press Association.) Feilding, January 28. The long spell of dry Aveathcr was broken yesterday by/heavy rain, and there was a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Lightning set tire to some pine needles on a properly near town, and the flames spread along the grass, but they were extinguished before any damage was done. There was a heavy gale during the night. The so.ddng rain, which continues to-day, will do much good to the pastures and turnip, and rape crops.
