ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.

WHARF LABOURERS INJURED. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, January 23. Charles Clyne and Joseph Hawes, waterside workers, were engaged in discharging the cargo steamer Waihora, when two hales of kapoc, weighing about 70H). each, fell from ’tween decks to the lower hold, striking both men. Hawes was rendered unconscious, but soon recovered. Clyne was badly injured in the back, and was removed to tho hospital. DIED IN THE HOSPITAL. Auckland, January 24. George Henry Allport, who fell from a load of chaff at Mangere, and fractured his skull, died in the hospital this morning.
