THE RIVAL FACTIONS
London, January 18
It is reported that the Nationalists will bury the Union Jack at Falle Road, and that the Belfast Unionists will burn Mr. Asquith in effigy at Helens Bay. The Duke of Devonshire will move the rejection of the Home Rule Bill in the House of Lords.
There have been many bon fires in the Nationalist quarter at Belfast. The police prevented collisions between bands of Unionists and Nationalists. The military are in readiness in their barracks. The Unionists held a mock wake round an uncoffincd effigy, labelled “Homo Rule.”
