HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. “Bessons in Liquid Air” is the subjcct of & very novel picture, includccl in the new programme which was ' screened for the first time at His Majesty’s -Theatre last evening, these interesting scientific pictures aro always welcome, and the latest is certainly one of the best of a fine series of films that educate. Another good picture is the Rathe Gazette, and the latest, number is brimful of interest, treating with topical subjects in good style. That thrilling detective drama “The. Missing Finger” was loudly applauded. Michael Clark a burglar has the misfortune to lose a finger when dynamiting a jeweller a safe. Detectives find the finger, and, following up the clue, are within an inch . ‘bf capturing Clark,, as he boards a • ' western train. A special engine is chartered, ..but Clark jumps oft the ' train, and makes good his escape. Later on Clark turns up at a ranch and there meets BUI Jackson, the ami rrEorrest, the guest at the ranch. Both young men fall in love, but the long arm of the law captures Clark. By strange coincidence, Mary Forrest is a sister of the surgeon who attended to Ciaik s finger, and, when Mary sends a photbgraph of Clark to her brother the chase for the burglar is revived. Clark, .•) resisting,; is shot, bub Jackson captures Mary, without resistance. Another’’ good picture is ‘‘A Moorish Maid,”- a reproduction of Messrs Mill and Birch’s opera. “A Leap Year Lottery Prize” tells m good style the amusing story of a bashful parson, and- the happy consummation of his little, love affair. “A Visit to Senegal” is an excellent scenic picture, showing the quality of the scenery, peculiar to the Soudan. To-night the same bill will be given.
