EARTHQUAKE SHOCKS

The River View seismographs on Saturday night recorded earthquake shocks four hours, 3200 miles distant. NEXT SCIENCE CONGRESS. 1 Melbourne, January 12. The next Science Congress will be held at Hobart in January, 1916. 5 A (HEAT WAVE: Hot weather is being experienced, the temperature being 100 degrees in the shade yesterday. This is accompanied by a northerly wind. BURGLARY AND MURDER. In connection with the murder of Trotter, it is stated that the burglar who removed the money from under the mattress did not speak throughout, and it is suggested now that this person was a woman.
(Two burglars entered the bedroom of Mr Trotter, Chief Collector, at Macßobert and Son’s confectioner store on the night of January Gth. They shot Trotter in the presence of his wife, and secured £200.)
