OUTBREAK AT ELTHAM

(Per Press Association.) Eltham, January 13

A residence owned and occupied by W. Clarry caught fire last evening, but the fire brigade was given timely warning, and their efforts confined the conflagration to the rear portion of the premises. The insurance on the house was £475, and on the furniture nil.

SEVEN-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED.

Auckland, January 13

A seven-roomed house at Eirkdall, owned by Alfred J. Finch, was destroyed by fire last night, with its contents. The occupants escaped in their night clothes through the upstairs windows. The house was insured for £-150 in the London and Lancashire Office, and the furniture was partly covered in the same office.
