OCCUPANTS’ HURRIED ESCAPE. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, December 31. A nine-roomed residence on Owens Road, owned by Edmund Masong and occupied by W. B. Robinson, was totally destroyed by fire early this morning. The occupants were aroused by the sound of roaring flames and escaped hurriedly with the children. No furniture was saved. _ The fur niture was insured for £3OO in the .National, but there is a loss of £2OO ‘above that amount. The insurances on the building are not available.
