WEATHER FORECAST.
The Government Meteorologist (Rev. D. O. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows : ' The indications arc for strong winds to gale and hacking by south to west. Heavy rain is to 1)0 expected, with rivers flooded. The night will probably be very cold. Barometer unsteacly, ; Mr E. B. Stohr has disposed of his business to Mr Nicholson, of Petone. Owners, and trainers are reminded that nominations for the annual race fixture of the Stratford Racing Club on January Ist and 2nd, 1913, dose at 9 p.m. on Monday, with the secretary, Mr Alfred Coleman, Stratford. It would be well to hear in mind that the telegraph office closes each evening at 8 o’clock. One of the Electrical Supply. Co.’s, wires cam© down in Broadway Nort; this morning, between Seyton Street and Pembroke Road. The wire wat a live one, and was carefully watched until repairs were effected. Dog fanciers have expressed admiration for tho manner in which the dog section at the Stratford A. and P. Association was conducted. _ Mr. T. Kirkwood, the presiding genius of the canine department, knows hew the work should bo done, and to him is due much of the credit for the success achieved. The pressmen, particularly, are grateful for the excellence of the arrangements, and the promptitude with which the awards were forwarded.
