The Otago A. and P. Society’s -summer show opened to-day in dull weather, but onlv one or two light showers foil during the day. The quality of the exhibits is fully up to the- standard of the previous year, but the entries show a decrease, being 871 this year as against 949 last year. The falling-off is due to the unfavourable weather. The following championships were awarded:—Draught horses: Stallion, Baron’s Bold; mare, Baron’s Brilliant (reserve Acratha). Cattle: Jersey bull, F. E. Helyer (N. E. Harbour); cow, F. E. Hellyer. Shorthorn bull, Arthur Chamberlain (Canterbury); cow, D. Murray (Clydesdale). Polled Angus: Bull and cow. Roberts and Co. (ATiddlemarch). Ayrshire: Bull, Rankin Bros. (Underwood); row, executors of the late W. Cowan (Enfield). Holstein Friesian: Bull and cow, D. Mackenzie (Pomohaka). Fat bullock: W. J. Charters (Mosgiel), Border Leicester*; Ram and ewe, T. S. Little (Ngapara). English Leicester.*: Ewe. T. S. Little Lincolns: Ram, T. S. Little; ewe, N.Z. and Australian Land Co. (Hampden). Romney Alar,sh: Ram and ewe, W. Telford (Waiwera South). Shropshire Downs; Ram and ewe, W. Gardiner (Island Cliff). Inbred halfbrod ram and owe: N.Z. and Australian Land Co.
