WANGANUI SALVAGE CASE. (Per Press Association.) November 19. Judgment was given to-day in' the Wanganui salvage case. The Court was jr cue opinion tnat when the Wanganui was sighted hyiKapiti and spoken to by her, and when she was taken ui tow by the Arapawa,. she -was not in a dangerous position. She was, however, in a more or less dangerous position, and it would have been wrong of the. master of the Wanganui to have refused assistance. Looking at all the circumstances, the Court considered it should award £3OO without costs, and deduct £25 for costs to respondent. No pronouncement was made as to what sum should be paid to each vessel, but the Court was of opinion £75 should bo awarded to the crew. DIVORCE. A decree nisi in'divorce was granted to Samuel James Sanson against Isabel Mary Sanson, on the ground of insanity. EDUCATION CONFERENCE. A conference of. University Professors is being held here. The proceedings are not open to tho press.
