(Per Press Association.) Wellington, November 4. At the Supreme Court to-day, Arthur Henry Widdas, charged on two counts with having assaulted John Alfred Leahy, was found guilty on tho second count of assault causing bedily harm, and was remanded till Thursday for sentence. NELSON SESSIONS. 1 Nelson, November 4. The Supreme Court sessions opened to-day before Mr, Justice Chapman, who congratulated the grand jury for the freedom of the district from serious crime. William Henry Coles was found guilty of theft of various articles f'ronj a furniture dealer, and was sentenced to eighteen months’ imprisonment. Coles was a police constable, and the thefts were committed while he was on night duty. The criminal sessions closed.
