FIRE AT CHRISTCHURCH.

HORSE BOXES BURNED,

(Per Press Association.)

Christchurch, October 9

Fifteen horse boxes on the Metropolitan Trotting Club’s ground, and fifteen boxes in the (Agricultural Show Grounds oh the other side of the fence, were burnt last evening. If the fire had come a little later, it would have caused inconvenience, because both bodies have important spring fixtures early next month. However, there is ample time to replace the boxes. The Trotting Club lately extended the saddling paddock and built a range of sixty new boxes, making 120 in all.
