(Received 9.85 a.m.) Melbourne, September 19. Henry Brown, farm hand, was drowned in the floods at Springdale. The Telegraph Department denies that the Hobart wireless station is ineffective. The Melbourne station declares that Hobart has no difficulty in communicating with them and they have no difficulty in speaking to Hobart. Melbourne says that they heard Hobart speaking to vessels at the Bluff and pointed out that despite atmospheric disturbances Hobart communicated with the Macquaries nightly-
