RUGBY UNION.
MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Management Committee was held last night. Present : Messrs McLeod (chair), O’Dea, Glenn, Lees, Chalmers, Garcia, James, and Skaglund. The following re-instatements were approved:—Elthapi, G. Glenbrook, T. Glcnbrook, A. Cooper, D. Henry, J. Fitzgerald, W. Narbey, Hunter, W. Cleaver, R. Harkness, senior to first junior; Tukapa, P. Morton, senior to first junior; Waitara, N. Tate, llepk'nson, senior to first junior; Waimate, L. Young, C. Jones, P. Leodon, senior to first junior; Inglewood, W. Rayner, F. Nichols, R. Nichols, (J. Milos, B. Stimpsou, senior to first junior; G. Allen, L. Walker, V. Boldt, O. Kennedy, J. Spiers, first to second jun'or; Stratford, E. Hancock, Dud Cameron, T. Jones, senior to first junior; Haiyera, H. Whittington, senior to first junior ; Patna, K. Broughton, first to second junior. An application by Stratford •to bo allowed to play E. Dive was granted. Owing to Inglewood’s inability to raise a senior team, the Inglewood district has been incorporated ‘with Clifton for the present season. A protest by the Star Club against the Eltham Chib was considered, and it was decided that no action he taken, as the Union had no jurisdiction under the circumstances. Eltham wrote,> complaining that the Star team had arrived on tne ground late. The Chairman explained the reason, which was considered satisfactory.
Mr Malone was given power to arrange the annual inter-provincial matches when in Wellington at the annual meeting of the N.Z. Rugby Union.
The Hon. Secretary’s action in arranging matches with Wanganui was confirmed. The Star Club ratified the withdrawal of their second junior team from the competitions. The following selections were approved:—Rep. team, Messrs Malone, Mynott, and Hunter; north division, Messrs Malone, Mynott, and McLeod; eouth division, Messrs Hunter, Burke and Lees.
The Waimate Club pointed out that the mounted encampment would interfere with the matches on 18th hist.— It was resolved to -take no action. An amended list of dates for second junior fixtures is being compiled, and will bo published in a day or two.
