EG MONT SECOND DAY. The Earnout Racing Cluh’s meeting was concluded yesterday in glorious weather. There was a largo attendance, and the racing was interesting, the track being in much better condition than on the first day. The takings at the gates wore £IOO above last year. Music was supplied throughout the day by the Hawera Brass Band. Mr. J. Trton (secretary) and his assistants had everything working smoothly. The totalisator handled £11,301, making a total for the meeting of £21,289, an increase of £BOB9 for the meeting. Concluding results:— Ngamutu Handicap, of 80 sovs; six furlongs.—Mr. S. Pitt’s cli g Glenfern, 7.8 (J. O’Shea), 1; Mr. G. W. Anstis’s ch g Royal Simon, 7.12 (B. Dooley), 2; Mr. Jas. Coleman’s hr f Lady Volga, 8.0 (L. Nodder), 8. Dover Straits 8.11, Aviatrix 7.9, Miss Roberts 7.8, Minora 7.7, Kiwitahi 7.5, Silver Rose 7.0, Tirohanga 7.0, Gien'Tullocii 7.0, St. Luap 7.0, also started. Glen fern and Lady Volga were quickly picked in the van, and this pair led a straggling field to the turn. Royal Simon joined issue at the distance, and a magnificent race home ensued. Glcnfern made a great effort over the last few yards, and snatched victory by a hose from Royal Simon, with Lady Volga a similar distance away third. Time, Imin 17 l-sseo. Corinthian Handicap, of 50 sovs; one mile and a distance.—Mr G.. McCarthy’s hr g Comedian, J 0.9 (Mr Shields), 1 ; Mr B. T. Bennett’s b in Nebulous, 10.7 (Mr Brucre), 2; Messrs Butler and Ruskins hr g Red Coral, 10.8 (Mr Mcßae), 3. Mill banks 10.9 (Mr Audrey) also started. Comedian showed the way to Red Coral and Nebulous as they passed the stand. Comedian came right away at the half-distance, and won with ridiculous case by five lengths. Time, 2min sscc. Opcke Handicap, nf 75 sovs; four furlongs anti a half.—Mr J. Coleman’s hr f Lady Volga, 8,11, 1 ; Mr M. Erankliii’-s blk g Galtee, 8.7, 2; Mr J. Barlow’s b g Katua, 7.12, 8. Royal Dagnoa 8.0, Obinoo 8.0, Lady Loo 8.0, Handsome Maid 8.0, Gordon Bell 7.13, Nukliau 7.13, Silyerbopo 7.12, Patronata 7.7, Woo Paul 7.7, and Opeke 7.7, also started. Won by a length.
