THE BRITISH SUSPICIONS NEVER UNDERSTOOD. THE CHANCELLOR SPEAKS. (Received 6, 9.20 a.m.) Berlin, December 5. The Reichstag was crowded when the Chancellor replied to Sir Edward Grey. Herr Hollweig stated that the Government never understood the British suspicions, because they wore utterly groundless. He sincerely reciprocated Sir Edward Grey’s wish for improved relations. They wanted to live in peace and friendship with Great Britain, but only on condition that the policy towards Germany was marked with some positive evidence of goodwill. /
