A tragedy at Gienvale, near Scone, is reported, the victim being Selina Baker, A daughter, aged nine, ran three miles to the nearest township and reported that her father had shot iier mother, and afterwards battered her with a gun. The body was found dreadfully knocked about. (Received 6, 9.55 a.m.) Sydney, December 6. Baker was of eccentric habits. Ho lived on bad terms with iris wife. Lately ho sold his home. His wife thereupon refused to live with him. Baker is still uncaptured. It is believed that lie is armed.
