WOOLLEN COMFORTS FOR SOLDIERS

An appeal to the women of Southland to continue the good work of knitting woollen comforts for the soldiers was made by Mr P. L. Hodge at a meeting of the executive of the Southland Provincial Patriotic Council yesterday. Mr Hodge said that while with the summer coining on the soldiers might not need to use these comforts at present, the military authorities were anxious that all soldiers leaving Southland should be issued with comforts before they left. Therefore it was hoped that the work of knitting the comforts would continue. There was plenty of wool available at the patriotic depot.
