CLEANING RAGS FOR ARMED FORCES
The fact that many dirty and unsuitable rags had been received in fhe collection made by Girl Guides in the city of cleaning rags for the armed forces was reported by Mrs J. G. Macdonald at a meeting of the Southland Committee for the Reclamation of Waste Material yesterday. Mrs Macdonald said she thought this might have been due to the fact that the North School had made arrangements to collect rags of any description. This collection had been postponed in the meantime, but people might have been confused between the two.
It was decided that suitable rags would be received at the depot, 99 Tay street, opposite the Town Hall, until October 24. The depot, it was stated, would be open every afternoon. It was emphasized that the rags must be clean and of a material suitable for cleaning purposes.
