CHILD FATALLY SCALDED
(P.A.) ASHBURTON, October 12. Annette Margaret Jones, aged three years and three months, a daughter of Private and Mrs Stanley Jones, formerly of Hokitika, died In the hospital from shock and scalds through falling into a bath of hot water at the home of her grandparents, Mr and Mrs Patrick Hyland, of Elgin, on Saturday.
WOMAN FOUND DEAD
Early last evening Mrs P. Ballantyne, aged 45, was found dead in her home in O’Hara street. She had been in ill-health. No inquest will be necessary.
