DEATH ERRONEOUSLY REPORTED

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 7. On June 7 there appeared in New Zealand newspapers a cable from London advising the death of Professor Gilbert Murray. A resolution of sympathy with the British League of Nations Union on his death was passed by the Dominion council and the Wellington executive of the union and forwarded to British headquarters. The following cable has now been received from Major A. J. Freshwater, overseas secretary of the union: “I am delighted to inform you that Professor Murray is alive and well, and attended an executive meeting today. The executive thanks your council, nevertheless, for its sympathetic message.”
