Mrs J. A. Holmes, Kelvin street, leaves today on a visit to Hanmer. Miss Nancy Prichard, Duke street, is visiting Dunedin. Mrs G. C. Cruickshank, Don street, leaves today to spend a holiday at Queenstown. Miss Marjorie Baird, Otautau, has returned after a visit to Miss Heather Shaw, Bluff.

Mrs J. S. Brass, Beatrice street, has returned after a short visit to her sister, Mrs H. R. Robertson. Gore. Miss Francis McGoldrick. Gore, was the guest of Mr and Mrs A. V. Poole, Crinan street, at the week-end. Mrs C. L. Harney and Miss Dorothy Harney, Ythan street, left on Sunday to spend a holiday in the north. Miss Ruth Wesney, Thomson street, and Miss Joyce Lee, Princes street, are the guests of Miss Nessie Gordon, Garston. Miss June Bilkey and Miss Audrey Prichard, Dunedin, are the guests of Mrs H. D. Prichard, Duke street. Miss June Rees, Yarrow street, leaves this week for Napier on transfer to the Bank of New Zealand. Smart new uniforms have arrived for the three Invercargill members of the Army Transport Corps, Sergeant Marjorie Stout and Drivers Jean Andrews and Marjorie Miller. They are of a khaki-green colour and both the costume and coat are tailored. The overcoat has big revers, slit pockets and is trimmed with brass buttons. The back has a half-belt finished with two brass buttons. The skirt of the costume has a pleat back and front and there are four military pockets on the coat, which is also trimmed with brass buttons. The accessories include a khaki shirt blouse and tie, tan shoes, fawn lisle stockings and tan kid gloves. They have two hats—a khaki glengarry and a khaki felt with a brim. v
