CRIPPLED CHILDREN APPEAL
The amount so far received in response to the appeal for funds made by the Southland Branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society is £Bl3/10/-. This includes £32 from a street day conducted by the ladies assisting the society at Bluff and £52 from a similar effort at Riverton. The president of the branch, Mr V. J. Wise, stated on Saturday morning that contributions were still being received and it was hoped to reach £lOOO. He wished to acknowedge two contributions, one of £1 from “S.M.” and another of £5 from “Wellwisher” for which it had not been possible to give receipts as no addresses were supplied. Mr Wise expressed appreciation of the help given by those who had assisted the appeal and of the generosity of those who had contributed to it.
