OBITUARY

MR DONALD McKERCHAR

The death occurred at Invercargill on Wednesday of Mr Donald McKerchar, who for more than 40 years was farming in the Forest Hill district. He took an active interest in sheep breeding and dog trials, in which he competed with success. He was bom at Forest Hill 75 years ago, and his parents, the late Mr and Mrs Donald McKerchar, were among the first to settle in the district. Mr McKerchar was educated at the North Forest Hill school, and later gained a good deal of experience on farms and stations in various parts of Southland before taking over the Huntly property at Forest Hill., A son and a daughter, Mr Donald McKerchar and Miss Jean McKerchar, of Forest Hill, and his second wife survive him.
