(Special) WELLINGTON, August 20. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate to strong north-westerly winds; intermittent rain in the western ranges, elsewhere mainly fair to cloudy; moderate to mild temperatures.
The weather in Invercargill yesterday was showery during the morning, with a slight north-westerly wind, but the weather in the afternoon cleared. At 1 o’clock this morning the weather was mild, calm and overcast. The barometer reading was 29.90 in (steady). The Tides.—High water, Invercargill,lo.l3 a.m.; 10.47 p.m. Bluff, 9.32 a.m.; 10.06 p.m. Riverton, 8.32 a.m.; 9.06 p.m. Oreti Beach, 8.41 a.m.; 915 p.m. The Sun. —Rises 7.38 a.m.; sets 6.03 p.m.
