(Special) WELLINGTON, August 9. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate to fresh northerly winds; rain in the western ranges; elsewhere the weather fair to cloudy; temperatures moderate.
The weather in Invercargill on Saturday morning was cold and showery, but it later cleared and Saturday afternoon and Sunday were calm and sunny. At 1 o'clock this morning the weather was clear, calm and frosty. The barometer reading was 30.12 in (steady). The Tides.—High water, Invercargill 1.25 a.m.; 1.45 p.m. Blufl 12.44 a.m.; 1.04 p.m. Riverton 11.44 a.m.; 1.45 p.m. Oreti Beach 11.53 a.m.; 12.13 p.m. The Sun. —Rises 7.57 a.m., sets 5.48 p.m.
